Recently, the second 2017 China Zunyi International Chili Fair was held in the People's Park of Xinpuxin district in Zunyi. The chili production area in Zunyi is over 200.000 hectares (2 million mu). Its annual production volume exceeds 15 billion yuan, earning it the title "China's chili capital".
The theme of this edition of the International Chili Fair was "Ecological Guizhou peppers are flooding the whole world." It was held by the Zunyi government, the Provincial Agricultural Commission, and the China Vegetable Distribution Association. Currently, the worldwide chili production area is over 5 million hectares (50 million mu). The annual production volume is 37 million tons. Chili peppers have become the biggest seasoning worldwide.
