Uzbekistan to supply fresh produce to Novosibirsk

In August, a wholesale and retail complex for Uzbekistan's products will open in Novosibirsk. 85% of the project has already been completed and will have a total cost of about 1 billion roubles (about 14.73 million Euro).

The construction of the complex was launched after the signing of a memorandum of cooperation with Uzbekistan and the goal is to increase the supply of fruit and vegetable products to Novosibirsk and other regions of the Siberian Federal District. Its launch is scheduled for the first ten days of August. This was reported by Interfax, quoting a representative of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Novosibirsk region.

For its part, Uzbekistan created the agricultural holding "Uzagroexport", to deal with the export of fresh and processed fruit and vegetable products. The plan is to launch the trading house "Uzexport-Siberia" in the Novosibirsk region.

According to the Government of Novosibirsk, the region consumes between 200 and 250 thousand tonnes of Uzbek agro-industrial products per year. Also, the region is a logistics hub for other parts of the Siberian Federal District.
