Exhibitors
Over 200 exhibitors will be present at the event says Claudia Chez, from Junta Agroempresarial Dominicana, Inc. (JAD). “The Dominican Republic is a blessed country that has the advantage of its diverse micro-climates, to produce a diversity of fruits and vegetables. Buyers and visitors will be able to to see, taste, compare and buy the most popular tropical fruits that have had a position in international markets. For example organic bananas, pineapples, mangoes, papayas, melons, and water melons to name a few.”
She continues: “Moreover, going through traditional and exotic vegetables, such as greenhouse bell peppers, tomatoes (traditional and specialty), Asian vegetables, aromatic herbs, eggplants, avocados (Hass and our very own green skinned avocado), plus cucumbers.
Also produced in the Dominican Republic and presented at the fair are the roots and tubers such as breadfruit, cassava, dasheens, yams, blue taro and pumpkins; plus, of course, organic and traditional ginger.”

The organization says they have confirmed visitors from more than 30 countrie so far: The USA, Venezuela, Panama, Spain, Switzerland, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Perú Colombia, Puerto Rica, Brazil, The Netherlands, Taiwan, Guyana, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Russia and many more. They expect the visitors to be prominent and high-level importers, supermarket representatives, distributors and, of course, all others who are interested in buying the products and services presented at the fair.
Dominican Republic
An objective of the exhibition, mentioned in a previous publication, is to promote the local products and hopefully improve exports. Claudia explains: “The Dominican Republic can produce crops all year round, thanks to its tropical climate. Its geographical location is also an advantage, as our country is near the main target markets - the US, Canada and the EU. We are only 2 hours away from Miami and 3 hours away from New York.”
Agroalimentaria
“Agroalimentaria has achieved the position of the most important business summit for Food, Beverages and Tobacco industries of the Caribbean Region. Growers and exporters have the opportunity to meet and close business deals with importers of these 3 sectors from all over the world, and have two days to network and also take them to their own projects to discuss expansion and other business opportunities”, says Claudia.
She concludes: “Dominican exporters have trust in Agroalimentaria, because they see a return on investment. For example, the many business to business meetings they will have during the show, will save them tons of effort and time.”
