Maersk planning to expand into Australia's logistics market

Maersk Line has announced its plans to expand into the Australian logistics market and add other services to its port calls, according to Gerard Morrison, Managing Director of Maersk’s Oceania business.

Through this, new bundled services could be offered to customers such as retailers and produce exporters through third party logistics provider Damco - part of A.P. Moller – Maersk.

Morrison said: “At the moment, shipping is ‘shipping from port to port’ and the thought is, how can we help our customers deal with other parts of the supply chain?

“We’ve got a vision to be the global integrator of container logistics.”
