Peru to open 12 new agro-export markets in Asia & Oceania

Peru plans to open 12 new markets in Asia and Oceania for agricultural exports, the National Agricultural Sanitation Service (Senasa) informed.

To this end, a delegation of Senasa experts traveled to Malaysia, where it has been meeting with authorities from the country's Department of Agriculture (DOA) in order to lift sanitation barriers.

According to Senasa, DOA officials were satisfied with the Inca nation’s production system for export fruit. For Peruvian grapes however, adjustments are required to fit existing regulations. Senasa expects the plague risk study to be carried out shortly so as to begin grape shipments for the next export season.
