McCain makes 10 year cold storage deal in Truganina

Storage and logistics company, NewCold, and McCain Foods Australia have made a 10-year agreement to store the frozen food company’s products at a new Truganina warehouse.

McCain Foods supply chain director Taso Kourou said the deal would significantly improve distribution which he believes will help the company keep up with demand.

“The storage and handling of McCain’s frozen products in the new automated facility will give us a more stable temperature regime and highly accurate stock control,” he said.

A new warehouse will use unmanned stacker cranes, conveyors and automated truck unloading systems to handle more than 11,000 pallets of food products a day.

The warehouse is planned to be finished with construction by July 2017 and will then begin operation.

The $100 million dollar Truganina build will also house the NewCold Asia-Pacific headquarters, with more than 120 full-time position, once the building at the corner of Robinsons and Middle roads opens.
