According to news from the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association, the total value of fruit and vegetable export from Vietnam exceeds 2.4 billion USD. That is an increase of 30% compared to the same period the year before and went well beyond the target of 2.2 billion USD that was fixed by the Vietnamese Labour and Trade Department. In order to set free and preserve the efforts made on the market, the Vietnamese left a deep impression for the end of 2016.
China is the largest export market for Vietnamese fruits and vegetables, good for 70% of the export. Listed after China are South Korea, the US, Japan and other strong markets. This year, the fruit and vegetable industry hopes to realise a trade surplus of 1.5 billion USD.
The Vietnamese agricultural industry and the head of the countryside development department's vegetation protection office, Mr. Pei Shiying, made a statement. This year, a unit that is directly subordinate to the office will perform inspections on the 10,500 tons of fresh fruits that are exported to the strong markets, good for a 100% increase compared to the same period last year. China and Taiwan have already opened up the market again for the Vietnamese dragon fruits and longan fruits. So far, Vietnam exports 100 tons of dragon fruits to China and Taiwan together.
