The Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation, Jose Manuel Hernandez, stated today that the head of the National Service of Agrarian Health (Senasa) was going to travel to China to accelerate the health protocols for the entry of blueberry and other Peruvian agricultural products into that country.
"The head of Senasa will travel to China to accelerate health protocols to facilitate the access of blueberries and other Peruvian agricultural products to that market, which has 1,200 million potential consumers," he said.
Hernandez met with officials of the Foreign Trade Society (ComexPerĂș) to define strategies to continue increasing agricultural exports and to consolidate the Peruvian supply in international markets.
He also said that he would continue having meetings with various business associations and that they were seeking new mechanisms to support agricultural exporters.
"Phytosanitary and logistics aspects are important. That's why I consider Senasa's participation in these workshops to be very positive, as it will allow us to ensure the growth of our exports and getting access to new markets worldwide," he said.
The strategies to boost agricultural exports will be supported and supervised by the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation (MINAGRI) through the National Service of Agrarian Health (Senasa).
The goal is to add value to this entire production chain, which ultimately is not sustained by the big exporters but by the growers.
