Italy: Melons from Senegal arriving at Agricola Don Camillo

Thanks to its partnership with Soldive, a well-known French melon producer with crops in Senegal, Agricola Don Camillo started importing produce from week 50.

Above: melon crop in Senegal. Below: harvesting.

"We will continue until 4-5 January 2016, handling around 50 tons arriving by air. Then we will continue with another 1,200 tons arriving by sea between late February and 20th April," explains president Ettore Cagna.

The produce we are talking about is top of the range - Chanterais melons cultivated in Senegal have high Brix levels (between 13 and 16) and an intense aroma.

The produce is processed entirely in the production and are then sent to Agricola Don Camillo's Brescello facility.
