Monsanto Co. Chief Executive Officer Hugh Grant will be in Europe this week and next to meet with Syngenta AG investors as he pursues a takeover of the Swiss pesticide producer.
Grant, in his first European trip to lobby shareholders on the potential deal, will be accompanied by Chief Financial Officer Pierre Courduroux, said Sara Miller, a company spokeswoman.
“We remain encouraged by the reactions to our proposal from our respective shareholders, customers and other stakeholders,” Miller said Wednesday in an e-mail.
