The sales amount of fresh mushrooms in Germany increased by a quarter over the last seven years. This conclusion was made by the German Agrarmarkt Informations-Gesellschaft (AMI). Even in the last year the production of mushrooms in German companies increased from 62,000 to 64,000 tonnes. Around 8,000 tonnes of this is processed. The other 56,000 tonnes ends up in consumers' kitchens. Around the same amount is imported from neighbouring countries such as Poland and the Netherlands.
