Romania: Nationwide EU-funded training programme for the horticultural canning sector

The Romanian Canned Fruits and Vegetables Protectorship, Romconserv, will invest nearly 4.3 million lei (975,576 Euro) in a project which is to be 90% funded by the EU. It will allow 950 employees to have access to courses and re-training for 18 months.

According to Pro Agro, the main objective of the project is to improve the skills of the people employed within this sector in all eight regions of the country, by facilitating access to training, thereby increasing their employment opportunities in the fruit and vegetable processing sector and related industries. Participants will receive a course certificate approved by the National Qualifications Authority (NCA).

The project is co-financed by the European Social Fund through the Sectoral Operational Programme Human Resources Development 2007-2013.
