Large logistics centres to appear in Moscow

In two or three years large wholesale distribution centres will appear in the Moscow region, - Deputy Prime Minister Denis Butsaev announced Thursday.

The federal program is designed to create a network of wholesale distribution centres, which are supposed to contribute to a more balanced market saturation with agricultural production, - said D.Butsaev.

It has been noted that several centres of this kind would allow relieving traffic congestion on the highways.

The first distribution centre opened in the Domodedovo district is relatively small. The larger centres are expected to appear in two or three years, - stated D.Butsaev.

It has been added that the development of trade and logistics clusters (e.g. French market Rungis) shows that not only serve they as storage centres of agricultural products, but also as processing units.
