A Supa lifeline
The announcement that Khans Supa IGA Supermarket Group made another donation of $12,370.50 to the RFDS is good news for RFDS South Eastern Section Health Services manager Linda Cutler.
“Donations are always welcome, particularly in a tight fiscal climate with both charity and health dollars at a premium,” she said.
“We thank Khans Supa IGA for its continued and generous support during the past three years, which now totals over $54,000.”
“Donor funding helps us undertake emergency evacuations and deliver vital primary health clinics, including The Outback Oral Treatment and Health (TOOTH) program, which operates out of Dubbo and has transformed the dental health of many communities in Central Western NSW.”
The Khans Supa IGA Supermarket Group has 10 stores across NSW, including Bourke, Cobar, Coonamble, Nyngan and Lightning Ridge.
Khans Supa IGA managing director, Rashid Khan, presented the cheque to Ms Cutler at the RFDS Dubbo Base.
“The donation comes from our Community Chest program, which supports organisations the board deems to be “doing good” in the community,” he said.
“I opened my first store in Lightning Ridge in 1981 and understand what an important lifeline the RFDS is for people in central western NSW.”
RFDS South Eastern Section CEO Greg Sam said the Khans Supa IGA donation was another example of the fantastic support the RFDS receives from the businesses, people and fundraisers in the Central West.
“We thank them for their kind support over the past few years and long may it continue,” he said.
