Over the past 10 years, Kyrgyzstan's fresh produce exports have tripled, according to the State Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Nurlan Duisheev, who made this statement on 26 June at a meeting of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Agrarian Policy, Natural Resources and Environment in the Issyk-Kul region.
He explained that the growth was mostly due to the growing export volumes of fruits and berries.
Kyrgyzstan exports a wide range of fruit, vegetables and other products, including potatoes, beans, tobacco, cotton, meat, milk and wool. "The Republic's climatic conditions allow it to grow specific agricultural products with a relatively high growth potential. Shipments go mostly to Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Ukraine, Germany, France and Turkey," added N. Duysheev.
