Ellen said that prices for Dutch strawberries in 2013 were higher than now. "This year is ok, there was a rise just before Valentine, but that is normal. Then the price of most soft fruit rises."

Quantities of strawberries will rise in the coming weeks. "It is natural since the winter has been quite warm. Growers had less need to warm them up so it is to be expected that there will be larger volumes earlier. After the Sonata illuminated crop, comes the next variety Clery. Normally the strawberry season has stopped and we would begin the season with this variety. Officially the Belgian season starts this week. They are available in 200 and 250 grams, but from Monday also in 500 gram containers. From this year we can enjoy tasty Belgian strawberries and offer top quality, which is a nice addition to our range and also for our customers!"
