Achacha exclusive to BUD Holland assortment

The Achacha fruit is traditionally a 'New Year fruit' originating in the Bolivian Amazon area. These days the Achacha is grown ecologically in North Queensland, Australia. Since yesterday, Tuesday, 21 January, the Achacha's are again exclusively available at BUD Holland.

"The Achacha has a unique, fresh taste combination of sweet and sour. It is still the unknown fruit in Europe for many consumers, but people tasting this exotic sing its praises" Patrick Stoffels of BUD Holland tells. The importer receives the Achahcha's in 5kg packs and the season runs till the end of February.

The Achacha fruit is a rich source of essential nutrients and contains a lot of calcium and vitamin C. Also the plant is very rich in folic acid. Achacha's also contains considerably less sugar compared to many other fruits. The lower sugar content, however, does not influence the subtle sweet taste.

Recipes can be found at the BUD Holland website.
