US (FL): Orange crop projection reduced

The USDA has reduced its Florida orange crop forecast a further 2.9% because of ongoing damage from citrus greening disease. The cut is more than analysts expected to see.

It is now anticipated that Florida may harvest in the region of 134 million boxes of oranges, a reduction of 4 million boxes from the 138 million projected last month.

A year ago the State harvested 146.7 million boxes.
