Brazil shows interest in Barcelona's port operators

The Port of Barcelona promoted its services, as well as Barcelona's upcoming SINO conference, at Sao Paulo's Intermodal South America.

At the latest edition of Intermodal South America, held in early April in Sao Paulo, Brazilian logistics operators showed a great interest in the Port of Barcelona's logistic services. Brazil's growth makes it necessary to find highly professional and efficient operators at destination; qualities which Barcelona's professionals claim to have.

For this reason, many visitors at the Port of Barcelona's stand requested in-depth information on aspects such as the port's electronic platform and its quality model that integrates all agents in the logistics chain, from ship owners to terminals, logistic and transport operators, etc. One of the most admired aspects by Brazilian operators was the involvement of public institutions such as the Customs Office or the Inspection Services.

With its fifth visit to Intermodal South America, the sector's second most important fair worldwide after Munich's Transport Logistic, the Port of Barcelona strengthens its position in the Brazilian market to offer solid guarantees as a distribution platform for their products in the Mediterranean and Europe.

Additionally, thanks to its partnership with the World Cargo Alliance (WCA), representatives of the Port of Barcelona were able to meet with a good number of freight forwarders and promote the upcoming SINO conference, to be held in the Catalan capital between 20 and 23 June.

Barcelona's Port Community Promotion Manager, Manuel Galán, met with Argentina's Port of Barcelona's representative, Hugo Lejtman, and with representatives of the ports of Vitoria, Pananaguá, Santos and Rio de Janeiro, to study potential collaboration agreements.
