"If five finding of CBS the EU will impose an export ban. Speculations about this keep the orange prices at a high level. For the ordinary sizes of Serena oranges the price is around 12 Euro and for the large sizes the price is even higher. Other brands are sold for around 10/11 Euro. The demand is there. Of course, the cold weather here has been favourable for the consumption of juice oranges," says the importer.
"All in all it hasn't been a bad season for the Spanish citrus. There just wasn't a lot of product available. The supply of Maroc Valencia Late was a lot lower and a lot of it is sold on the domestic market," the trader continues. "The supply of lemons isn't that big either. We will offer Primofiori lemons for another week or two, then will continue on Verna. The supply from Argentina has been delayed for a few weeks due to the rain."
