Exportaciones Aguado focus on oranges and watermelon
The Spanish company Exportaciones Aguado S.L. is a family company specialised in trading and producing oranges and watermelons. The company has countless varieties of Spanish oranges available from October to June. The melon season starts in February for Exportaciones Aguado S.L., with the import of their own production, followed by the Spanish season which continues until the end of September.
The Spanish company is located in La Vall d'Uixó Castellon (Valencia) and a packaging department of 2,000 m3 with a cooling capacity of 1,200 m3. With over 90 employees this is a relatively small shipper. Willem Dijk Fruit and Vegetables had done business with Daniel and Vicente Aguado before, and this season (especially Navel Late and Valencia Late) this collaboration has intensified, which means that the company from Enschede is now the exclusive distributor of the Elefant brand on the Dutch market.
According to Miguel Carot of Aguado, the current citrus season hasn't had many peaks or dips as far are prices are concerned, and the supply is at a stable level. "For our top brand Elefant we carefully select based on quality, appearance and brix, so that there is a uniform quality of citrus in the boxes. We are very satisfied that we have an exclusive distributor for the Dutch market with Willem Dijk."
Willem Dijk Senior also seems to be satisfied with the collaboration. "This year we went all in to make Elefant known on the Dutch market, and you can see a specific demand for Elefant citrus from the domestic market as well as from Germany. Although we also work with other strong citrus brands, such as Filosofo and ZuidFruit, customers have even more possibilities to define themselves in the market with Elefant, compared to their colleagues."
