Camposol and Agricom working together in marketing to Europe

Looking to establish themselves as the best platform to supply supermarkets in Europe and to export products from small and medium farmers from Peru and Chile.
Agricom, one of the major fruit exporters from Chile, and Camposol, a leading agroindustrial company in Peru, signed an agreement to jointly commercialize products in Europe.

Such an agreement will allow them a broader commercial and logistics platform that will strengthen their customer base in that market. Among the products they will commercialize together are avocados, grapes, citrus, blueberries, pomegranates.

“We are very proud to sign this agreement, because it will allow a joint consolidation of both companies in Europe, increasing the exportable supply from both countries. Additionally, it opens the door for technical knowledge exchange and the positioning of the brands in a competitive growing market”, declared Rodrigo Barros Tocornal, Chairman of Agricom.

Meanwhile, Samuel Dyer Coriat, Executive Chairman of Camposol, highlighted the way in which the companies complement each other, by pointing out that both Peru and Chile, represented by Camposol and Agricom, respectively, will see themselves benefit from this alliance. “Instead of competing, we have been visionaries and realized that together we add up to more than two, and we must take advantage of the complementarity [nature] of our supply”.

The alliance, which leads to the creation of a company in the Netherlands called “Agricom Camposol Fresh”, which will commercialize and manage the portfolio of products of both companies in Europe, will benefit from economies of scale achieving higher returns for both parties. The agreement will also allow the extension of the windows through which Agricom and Camposol, offer their products individually.

Similarly, through the union of volumes, both companies will strive to maximize logistic savings in materials, transport, storage on arrival, etc.

“Our goal is to complement our productions, give better continuity to our supply and become the best suppliers of supermarkets in Europe, with a wide range of products and expertise in the handling and logistics of fruit”, explained Agricom´s Chairman.

Camposol's Executive Chairman stated “the complementarity [nature] of both companies is clear in the majority of their products, but most obvious in the case of avocados, since we will now be able to offer production from May to February, while now is only through September.

The philosophy and history of both companies is to export high quality products, with a high standard of service to its client base, which helped to establish a common basis of conversations in order to finalize this initiative.
