India: Himachal snowfall will keep pests off apples

The early snowfall being experienced in the higher altitudes of Himachal Pradesh is likely to help the state's fruit crop.

Former director of Mashobra Fruit Research Center SP Bhardwaj said in every season apple and other fruit crops require optimum 14 to 15 hours chill hours. He said the cold helped to protect the crops from pests and diseases.
