With effect from this year Fris-Co are organising tastings at the wholesale markets in Italy in order to draw the attention of their clients to their specialities. "This week we were present with a mobile kitchen and our own chef on the wholesale markets in Rome and Fondi. The reactions of the clients, who were mainly from the hotel and restaurant sector, were very positive" Sandra Bogaard says.
Fris-Co supply clients with a Goody-box with prepared products to hand out to their clients.
"With our tastings we draw attention to the less well-known special products.
Products such as mangoes and papaya are known to most of the chefs, but when they see finger limes, oyster leaves and beetroot shoots on the price list, they do not always know. Thanks to these tastings interest in these products increases"
Fris-Co, which has specialised in the export to the Italian market, says. "In this way this week we received a direct, extra demand for red beetroot shoots."
A Dutch chef prepares exclusive dishes during the tastings. Two TV-screens show photographs of products from the assortment and of dishes prepared by the chef. Suppliers of the specialities have sponsored the products for the tastings. "We have
customers on every wholesale market in Italy. Therefore we want to organise still more tastings in the future. Wherever we have been we have been asked to come again. It really leaves an impression with the clients" Sandra says.
