Austrians eat 31,000 tons leafy vegetables annually

The AMA-leaders, province minister Max Hiegelsberger and Gabriele Wild-Obermayr from the Oberösterreichische fruit and vegetable producers presented interesting figures: Austrians eat annually 31,000 tons leafy vegetables average per year. Which is 9.3 kilo per person. Iceberg lettuce is at 38%, the most favorite lettuce. Oberösterreich is the province with the biggest area of lettuce. Of the total Austrian area of 1550 hectares, 417 hectares is in Oberösterreich.
