Spain: Cultivated area for purple garlic grows 13%

The Protected Geographic Indication (PGI) Purple garlic from Las PedroƱeras expects to increase the cultivation area by 13%, with a production of 24,000 tons. In the present campaign, the companies belonging and authorized by the Association, have a total of 3,200 hectares, all in the area of allowed production, within the limits of the provinces of Albacete, Ciudad Real, Cuenca and Toledo. The PGI Purple Garlic is present in the National Fair of Origin Denominations held in Ciudad Real until the 10 of May.
