Pakistani kinnow well received in Indonesia

A special consignment of 800kg of kinnow has been presented, by the Pakistani Embassy, to personalities in Indonesia, including ministers, officials and media.

Apparently the Embassy has received positive feedback about the fruit, heralding good potential for the fruit once a recently signed preferential trade agreement comes into force.

State Secretary, Indonesia, Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Sudi Silalahi, described the kinnows as delicious.

Leading news daily, the Jakarta Post’s Foreign News Editor, Yohanna and her team addressed a message to the Embassy saying, "These are tastier than what we had in the market which are usually imported. You could promote more often to the business people here."

A senior official from the Indonesian Ministry of Trade, Sri Nastiti said, it was pleasing to see Pakistan kinnow in Indonesian market. A number of Ambassadors also sent comments of appreciation.

The distribution was intended to drum up some publicity for the fruit in advance of the PTA coming into force.
