Chilean blueberry exports to China

"The harvest season of our open-field blueberries began on June 15th after the season of greenhouse blueberries finished. The Chinese blueberry production season ends in August. However, we started importing Chilean blueberries last year in October. In this way we can guarantee year-round supply. The packaging does not show our Chinese company name but only bears the English label. This makes it easier for consumers to understand the origin of the blueberries." This is according to an expert from Jiangsu Richland Group Co., Ltd.

"Our online retail increased by 20% last year, but most of our retail still goes through traditional marketing channels," stated the expert. More and more Chinese consumers currently use e-commerce platforms to purchase products. This statement shows that this trend continues to develop.

"Our blueberry production volume increased by 25% in comparison with last year. The main reasons for this development are young trees maturing and older trees bearing more fruit. We also increased the organic quality of the soil, which increased the production volume per hectare. We plan to export blueberries to European countries and the USA, but did not yet start this year. We have several different destination markets in mind. We hope to continue to import Chilean blueberries, while we seek overseas cooperation partners."

The main reason for Jiangsu Richland Group to import Chilean blueberries is because consumers demand year-round supply of blueberries. Another blueberry plantation owner expressed the same sentiment: "We see the number of blueberry consumers increase every year. Blueberries are trending. Our blueberry production volume increased somewhat this year, but we can still find consumer demand. Our harvest season began on April 7th this year, which is slightly earlier than last year."
