YBM, a private avocado oil processing company, has become operational within the state-owned Yirgalem Agro-processing Park in Southern region of Ethiopia The new factory is set to start processing and exporting avocado oil to international markets including Europe, Asia and UAE. This facility is the second avocado processing facility in Ethiopia after Sunvado, established by Tradin Organic in 2019.
The facility is set to source raw materials from its own farm as well as over 40,000 surrounding smallholder farmers, clustered in 21 farmers service cooperatives and one fruit & vegetables supplying association.
