Female leadership in the southern cone's Agtech industry

Agustina Fabbio is appointed as PolyNatural's new CEO

More and more women are assuming important roles in startups dedicated to Agtech innovation. Only one of the 20 specialized companies in Latin America currently has a woman at its head, but that is already changing thanks to the arrival of the new CEO of PolyNatural, Agustina Fabbio, who will now lead this important startup.

Agustina decided that it was time to undertake new professional challenges after having successfully worked for 6 years for Grupo San Miguel, one of the largest producers of citrus, avocado, and grapes in the southern hemisphere, where she became the commercial director of the fresh fruit business. Then she decided to change the corporate world for that of startups and, after analyzing the different innovations at Agtech, she chose to join and contribute her experience and leadership to the PolyNatural team.

Then she decided to change the corporate world for that of startups and, after analyzing the different innovations at Agtech, she chose to join and contribute her experience and leadership to the PolyNatural team.

“I think it's key to stay in the world of agriculture because I love it and I have vast experience in it, which I'm willing to share and I hope will be very useful for this new challenge,” she stated.

The new CEO also spoke about the enormous potential of Shel-Life®, a product developed by PolyNatural that is a 100% natural and certified organic coating that extends the shelf life of fresh fruits by reducing food waste. “It adds an enormous contribution to the fruit value chain, improving post-harvest quality, lengthening its useful life, and reducing waste. I believe it is essential that all the actors of the food chain should work to improve sustainability and, in this context, a product like Shel-Life® is a tremendous contribution towards a more conscientious industry.”

Agustina Fabbio's goal is clear. She has her eyes set on the international market, as she wants PolyNatural and its products to be known outside Chile. “I want to work on a clear growth strategy with the team, placing a strong focus on this first stage of commercial development: providing a valuable solution in the avocado, apple, pear, and stone fruit businesses. At the same time, it's essential that we continue to develop innovative solutions that are the hallmark of the company. We want to be agile and innovative, providing solutions to the fruit production and export business,” she stated.
