Southern Specialties ramps up Mexican asparagus deal

Asparagus from Mexico to be shipped to US end of January

Southern Specialties, a grower, importer, processor and distributor of asparagus is ramping up its Mexican asparagus deal. The company is preparing to ship asparagus, grown in Caborca, Mexico, starting the last week of January. The deal is expected to run until mid-April.

Southern Specialties’ asparagus from Mexico will be available in both 11 and 28 pound cases and packed in all sizes from small to jumbo. The company will also ship organic asparagus in 11 pound cartons.

“We have been known as a leading producer and distributor of asparagus from Peru for many years.” says Carlos Solf, the company’s director of procurement “We started making investments in the Mexican deal several years ago. We have seen over forty percent growth there in the last two years. We continue to invest in deals that bring increased value to our customers.”

Mexican asparagus will be available to customers, in both LTL and straight loads, from San Luis, AZ and Pompano Beach, FL shipping points. Sales are handled through the company’s Pompano Beach, FL sales office at +1 (954) 784-6500
