Norma Augsburg: New logistics centre
The German discounter Norma continues its expansion and has started preparing for the construction of a large logistics centre. The first spadeful of earth ceremony was already conducted at industrial park Aichach/Dasing (Land Bayern) and the move to the new building is expected to take place in February 2015, reports the German website Gabot.de.
Norma's dynamic growth makes this move necessary. The centre in Augsburg already supplies food to 132 branches in Swabia, Upper Bavaria and Lower Bavaria and this trend is still on the rise. After the move, it will be possible to supply up to 250 branches.
With the new distribution centre in Aichach/Dasing the company from Nurnberg aims to set new standards in the field of building technology. From a technical standpoint, some of the most interesting additions to the facilities include 4,050 m² of integrated cold storage with extra cool zones for dairy and fresh meat products, as well as frozen storage with an environmentally conscious heat recovery system. The frozen area solely makes use of efficient natural refrigerants.
