U.S. avocado market holds steady at Texas crossings

Produce movement across U.S. entry points continues to fluctuate as seasonal shifts, weather conditions, and limited early-season volumes shape current trading levels.

Avocado
Movement from Mexico crossings through Texas is expected to remain about the same. Trading is fairly slow, and prices are generally unchanged. Hass cartons 2-layer 32-36s are mostly 25.25-26.25, 40s are mostly 24.25-25.25, 48s are mostly 24.25-26.25, 60s are mostly 21.25-23.25, 70s are mostly 19.25-22.25, and 84s are mostly 18.25-19.25. Organic 48s are mostly 34.25-35.25, 60s are mostly 36.25-38.25, and 70s are mostly 30.25-32.25. Extra services are included.

Blueberry
Movement from Peru, imported mostly via boat through Miami, Philadelphia, and New York area ports, is expected to remain about the same. Trading is moderate. Organic prices are slightly higher, and conventional prices are slightly lower. Flats 12 1-pint cups with lids, large mostly, are 22.00-23.00, and organic mostly 38.00-39.00. Quality is generally good. Most present shipments are from prior bookings or previous commitments.

Cucumber
Movement from Mexico crossings through Nogales, Arizona, is expected to increase. Trading is moderate, and prices of small items are lower, while others are slightly lower. One-and-one-ninth-bushel cartons of medium are mostly 12.95-14.95, fair quality mostly 10.00-11.00, ordinary quality 4.95-6.95, small 5.95-7.95, and large mostly 8.95-10.00. Cartons of 24s are 4.95-5.95, and 36s are 6.95-8.00. Quality is variable. Movement through Texas is expected to remain about the same, with medium mostly 16.95-17.95 and large mostly 13.95-14.95.

Green bell pepper
Movement from Coachella Valley, California, is expected to increase seasonally. Trading is fairly active. Extra-large are 18.95-20.95, large 16.95-18.95, and irregularly sized fair quality mostly 14.95-15.95. Movement from Central and South Florida is expected to remain about the same, with jumbo and extra-large mostly 14.35-15.85. Movement from Mexico through Nogales is expected to increase slightly with extra-large mostly 16.95 and large mostly 13.95-14.95.

Strawberry
Movement from Mexico crossings through Texas is expected to increase seasonally. Flats 8 1-lb containers medium are 28.00-32.00, and organic 34.00-38.00. Movement from Santa Maria and Oxnard, California, is affected by heavy rain, with flats mostly 28.00-34.00. Central Florida is mostly 34.00-40.00 and organic 40.00-44.00.

Tomato
Movement from Central and South Florida is expected to decrease. Twenty-five-pound cartons loose 5x5 and 5x6 are 9.35 and 6x6, and 6x7 are 11.35. Movement from Mexico through Texas shows vine ripes 2-layer 4x4-4x5 mostly 14.95-15.95 and 5x5 mostly 13.95. Movement through Nogales is expected to increase seasonally, with the first F.O.B. report due the week of November 30.
