As the Chinese apple season progresses, the actual yield of apples from Luochuan, Shaanxi Province, is becoming clearer. Guo Lei, head of Shaanxi Meirun Fruit Industry, explained, "Due to drought and low rainfall in the early growth stages, the industry initially predicted a 20%–30% reduction in apple production. However, in early October, a month of continuous rainfall coincided with the apple expansion period, resulting in larger fruit and a significant rebound in yield compared to earlier forecasts. Currently, the overall production decline has narrowed to around 10%."

The continuous rainfall also brought some challenges. "The rain delayed the harvest, affected the fruit's surface brightness, and increased the proportion of substandard fruit by about 10% compared to previous years. However, the overall smoothness and color contrast of the fruit remain good."
Regarding market conditions, Mr. Guo noted: "At present, apple sales are slower than in previous years, with sales volume down by about 20%–30%. Consumers are purchasing less frequently and in smaller quantities."

It is worth noting that new apple varieties are showing strong momentum. Mr. Guo stated, "Emerging varieties such as Qincui, Ruixue, and Venus have seen sales growth of approximately 40%-50% this year, with prices remaining firm, a stark contrast to traditional varieties. The Luochuan production area has also cultivated many new specialty varieties, resulting in increased yields this year. These varieties possess unique flavors and distinct appearances, making them increasingly popular with consumers. The market is showing a significant trend towards polarization."

"From a market perspective, although overall demand is under pressure, products with advantages in quality, size, and packaging that can clearly convey their value can still earn the recognition of high-end consumers. Differentiated, high-quality apples continue to have solid market potential."
Meirun Fruit Industry specializes in the planting and marketing of Luochuan apples, managing approximately 33 hectares of orchards. Its main sales channels include e-commerce platforms, community group purchasing, and corporate gift procurement.
