The Chinese garlic market has recently experienced minor fluctuations. Persistent autumn rainfall has delayed the planting period for the new garlic season, affecting market expectations for future production.

According to Manager Zhang from Jining Greenstream Fruit & Vegetable Co., Ltd., "Rainfall has delayed planting, and with uncertainty surrounding next year's per-unit yield, warehouse traders have seized this opportunity to speculate in the market, attempting to boost sentiment. As a result, raw material prices have increased by approximately 200 RMB (US$27.59) per ton."
Despite this short-term price rise, overall market momentum has remained weak, and speculation has been cautious. Manager Zhang added, "Prices dipped slightly during the National Day holiday, and the overall market remains volatile, without a clear direction."
From a supply and demand perspective, the market is currently characterized by a strong wait-and-see attitude. Industry insiders generally believe that a clearer picture of future trends will emerge only after the new garlic planting season concludes and the final planting area becomes known.

In the coming weeks, weather conditions and planting progress in major garlic-producing regions will be key factors influencing market movement. Mr. Zhang advised market participants to closely monitor farm activity and subsequent inventory releases to identify potential market turning points.
Jining Greenstream Fruit & Vegetable Co., Ltd. primarily exports agricultural products such as ginger and garlic to Eastern Europe and Asia.
