Lagging growth in fresh produce sector provides space for focus on optimisation

Despite the ongoing challenges in the fresh produce industry, the packers Looije Packing are trying to focus on process optimisation and provide their customers the best possible service.

"We do not perceive the ongoing logistics challenges as a setback, but as an opportunity to focus on optimising our internal processes. When it is manageable in our sector, we have the opportunity to further refine and optimise our internal processes," said Rene Tunker from Looije Packing.

"A recent highlight for our Waddinxveen location is to have the customs warehouse under our own management. This makes the lines for our customers even shorter and allows us to handle container imports ourselves. This translates into faster processing times and more flexibility for our customers. To respond even better to the various needs of our customers, we have introduced a number of new services, including horizontal clipping," states Tunker.
