There will be no seasonal reduction in prices for vegetables and fruits in Kaliningrad this summer, according to economic expert Pavel Golubev. The reason for this forecast is the drought in the region. The lack of precipitation can lead to the import of products that will be more expensive due to the dollar and euro exchange rates.
Domestic products will also be more expensive due to a lack of funds for crop irrigation. To improve the situation, reducing the export of vegetables and fruits to other countries can help. Golubev suggests that to maintain sales volume, producers will have to lower purchase prices for retail stores.
