The Di Pasquale company has been a producer for three generations

The Avezzano potato sold to mid-Italy's Horeca and general markets

Di Pasquale, a growing company from Abruzzo that grows potatoes at an altitude of 750 meters above sea level, has a wide range of products. The tubers can be found in wholesale markets in several Italian regions, but they are also sold directly to restaurants, friteries and other catering establishments.

Rodolfo and Giancarlo Di Pasquale

"Our potatoes have interesting benefits. They contain little water, are versatile and weigh between 100 and 250 grams," says Giancarlo Di Pasquale. "We harvest the potatoes, based on the planting and variety, from August to the end of October. The product, which has a shelf life of up to 7 months, is stored in a warehouse at a monitored temperature. Packaging and marketing are arranged upon customers' request."

The varieties available are Agata, Laura, Agria and Viola. The potatoes can be identified by their peel color, texture and size. "In order to extend their shelf life, the tubers are not washed, only brushed. The packaging consists of net bags of different sizes, which are placed in custom-made cartons. We deliver to dozens of Italian cities, from Milan to Florence, Naples, Livorno and Pistoia. We focus on the hospitality channel, but we are also operating with online sales. We are looking for foreign intermediaries who can help us enter the European market."

Di Pasquale has been growing potatoes for three generations. The company also relies on many local suppliers. "In recent months the potato sector has done very well, unlike other horticultural products affected by the current socioeconomic crisis. Compared to a year ago, we are seeing a 30% increase in sales and also an increase in prices. Those who buy our potatoes consistently come back."
