“As growers, packers, exporters and marketers of fresh fruit, World Fresh (formerly Sutherland S.A. Produce) works in Canada, the USA, Chile, Spain, Australia and Asia. “Of all the fruits we offer, Chilean cherries, IFG grapes and Sunworld grapes are the most popular varieties,” Ricky Chong, CEO of World Fresh Exports INC., told Freshplaza.
World Fresh Exports INC. has more than 40 years of fruit sales experience. Ricky mentioned: “Our sales to the Asian market are increasing each year. We do notice there is big potential there. Actually, Vietnam has been our biggest market for about 5 years."
In last 3 years, due to various challenges associated with the zero-Covid policy in China, many global exporters have adjusted their sales structure to reduce export volumes to the Chinese market while exporting more to other markets.
When asked if this is also the case for World Fresh, Ricky explained: “We have opened an office in Beijing, and export Chinese fruit to the rest of the world. To ensure the quality of the fruits, we have 6 quality control inspectors based in China, our company purchases farms and pack the fruits themselves in Guangxi and Yunnan. Until now, we have cut exports to China to less than 10%.”
World Fresh Exports INC. will attend Asia Fruit Logistica 2022 (AFL) from Nov 2 to Nov 4. The company will present their new products, including approximately 20 Chinese fruits in season. Their team will welcome everyone at their stand Q14.
