Cargo Produce

Chilean startup seeks to be the super-platform for exporters and importers across the world

"Exporters and importers are the main actors of the first mile of the international supply chain, moving millions of containers a year to supply the markets. What happens at this stage will define the success of the last mile in the products' final markets. Until the arrival of Cargo Produce, there was no technology that consolidated the main processes of the first mile from these actors' perspective."

“These are the same issues that Francisco del Río and Miguel Jubal, the founders of Cargo Produce, had to deal with. These two Chileans residing in the United States turned their 15-year experience dedicated to international trade into a technological startup that seeks to become the super-platform that exporters and importers globally will always need."

"Cargo Produce is a platform that ran 6 months in stealth mode with a group of early adopters and was officially launched in January this year. Current customers contribute a volume of 30,000 containers and expect to reach 100,000 by the end of this year," the firm stated.

"Our customers are specialists in their business, they already have an internal structure and an ecosystem of external collaborators that allow them to export or import their products globally. We don't alter that structure at all, what we do in Cargo Produce is to give them powerful software that allows them to take everything they currently do manually and supported by basic tools, to a single platform that functions as the only source of truth for their international supply chain," stated Miguel Jubal, co-founder of Cargo Produce.

Differences from other platforms
Unlike other tools, Cargo Produce is built with the business logic flexibility that exporters and importers require. This means that they are able to replicate the exact nomenclature of their SKUs, purchase orders, sales orders, internal validation, and control flows of the entire company, among other things, in Cargo Produce.

“Our system is transversal to all areas of the company. No matter which department you belong to, if you work as an exporter or importer you will have some level of concern in the international supply chain. For example, the finance teams that control collection or payment opportunities linked to shipping departures or arrivals, or commercial and purchasing teams use our Allocation tools to do so,” Jubal said.

They recently added a financing service, in collaboration with a fintech partner, that allows changing invoices into cash, if you are an exporter, or buying now and paying up to 120 days later, if you are an importer.
