Alan Hunt - Freshgro

We will not be short of carrots this season

The English carrot harvest is proceeding as planned at Freshgro. The company expects to keep it going until the end of May.

Alan Hunt from Freshgro said the company's carrot supply is good.

"We have plenty of crop left because of our strategy earlier in the season, the crop is good and abundant. We will not be short of carrots this season.

Demand is good in both the retail and wholesale markets and demand is coming back, food service will see an uplift ready for hospitality re-opening on the 12th of April.

"Our total sales are similar to this time last year and this should increase from April inwards. We expect Easter sales will be 25% higher overall."

Meanwhile planting for next season has begun and according to Alan is going very well.
