Dupré Logistics enters specialty produce transportation market

Dupré Logistics has completed its acquisition of Michigan-based TTS Logistics, marking the company’s entry into the specialty produce transportation market. TTS Logistics will now be known as TTS Logistics, a Dupré Logistics Company.

Dupré has long been a leading provider of energy and chemical transportation logistics services. The TTS Logistics acquisition will assist Dupré in achieving its goal to grow the Asset Light Business Unit to $200 million by 2024.

“While we have experienced exponential organic growth of our Asset Light business since 2016, we’ve been searching for the right partner to add talent and expertise to ensure that we reach our strategic goals,” said Mike Weindel, President of Dupré Logistics. “TTS is an attractive acquisition partner because of our similar cultures, the ability to add a new market sector to our business, and opportunities to grow regional capabilities.”

Brent Hebert, Chief Administrative Officer of Dupré Logistics, said, “TTS met all four criteria established by Dupré for acquisitions which included improving the performance of the company purchased, acquiring skills or technologies more quickly than could be built in-house, exploiting industry-specific scalability and picking winners early to help them develop their business.”

Weindel called the TTS acquisition “a perfect opportunity” as Dupré already runs some highly specialized temperature-control freight and has long recognized a significant opportunity for growth in the produce vertical. The strength and expertise of TTS Logistics in that area will help Dupré to achieve its goals in this very competitive market.

The next six months will be exciting for Dupré as it integrates the TTS team into the Dupré family. TTS Logistics’ 15 employees have joined Dupré with offices in Grand Rapids and Mount Pleasant, Michigan.

Dupré Logistics, headquartered in Lafayette, Louisiana, operates approximately 750 trucks and employs more than 1,100 professional drivers.
