Pineapple packing plant in Costa Rica closed-down due to COVID-19 outbreak

An outbreak of coronavirus among workers at one of the largest pineapple companies in the sector of Santa Fe de Los Chiles, in the North Zone, has led to the temporary closure of the company.

The mayor of Los Chiles, Jacobo Guillen, said the packing facility would be closed-down for some six days, as 20 of the almost 200 workers of the company were infected with the virus. "We are working with the Ministry of Health to see how we mobilize the people to a shelter," said Guillen.
