Local authorities lock down ship after member of crew catches Corona

Over 129 containers of limes stuck on container ship in Brazilian Santos

One of the crew members on the container ship Cap San Lorenzo of shipping company Hamburg Süd tested positive for the corona virus on 23 May. The ship is moored in the Brazilian port of Santos and has to be quarantined by the local authorities for two weeks until Tuesday 9 June before she can continue her journey. According to a Dutch importer, the ship includes 129 reefers with limes.

The ship departed from the port of Buenos Aires on May 16. The port of Santos was the last port call before the ship started crossing to the Spanish port of Algeciras where it was expected to arrive on June 5. The ship would then continue to Rotterdam, London and Hamburg.
