'In the middle of cities, as in Paris, the vegetables will grow, protected from environmental influences. Greenhouses with several storeys are reminiscent of glass refrigerators. Special nutrient solution and lighting allow the greenery to thrive.' The Regional Infarm Manager, Florian Cointet.

"The advantage of Infarm is that the plants are still alive. They do not come in, packed in plastic. You can eat fresh products with lots of nutrients and flavours. Back to the roots."

According to the manufacturer, the prices are similar or even lower than for comparable products with a delivery route. The fact that the plants are grown directly on site saves transport and packaging costs. The decorative effect is available free of charge on top, as in Berlin's Beba Café in the Gropius Bau exhibition centre, says owner Shani Leiderman.

"We have these four beautiful farms for our products. In terms of quality, Infarm's products are incomparable to anything I've ever tried. Even on the best farmer's market you won't find quality like this. The products have a completely different look, taste and texture."

The start-up aims to help cities around the world feed themselves and reduce the ecological footprint of agriculture. In the meantime, investors are also supporting Infarm.
