The Dominican ambassador to the People's Republic of China, Briunny Garabito, stated that China had authorized imports of Dominican avocados and that all the permits required for the commercialization of this fruit had already been approved.
Garabito said that, since they could only negotiate one product at a time, once they completed the process to open for avocado, they will start working to open the Chinese market for more Dominican products.
The ambassador said that the Dominican Republic already exported coconut water, processed cocoa, mamajuana, and cigarettes to China.
