In 2018, mango exports from Peru amounted to $ 256,273,000, i.e. 35% more than the $ 190,125,000 achieved in the previous year.
The main destinations for this fruit are the Netherlands (42%), the United States (22%), Spain (9%), and the United Kingdom (7%).
Exports to the European Union in 2018 amounted to 166 million dollars. Exports to this destination are expected to decrease by 11% this year due to the diversification of destination markets. However, this fall could be greater due to the new phytosanitary restrictions imposed by the EU on mango imports, to prevent the presence of the fly of the fruit.
In 2017, Sunshine Export SAC was the main exporting company of Peruvian mango with shipments for 12,563,000 dollars, followed by Camposol SA, with 10,221,000. In 2018 Camposol led exports of this fruit with shipments for 18,000,000, according to Promperu. It was closely followed by Sunshine Export SAC with shipments for $17,418,000.
