Canada: Fresh lychee fruit recalled over undeclared sulphites

Toronto firm Monco Produce Inc. is recalling fresh lychee fruit from the marketplace because they contain sulphites not declared on the label.

The recall covers fresh lychee fruit sold in bulk or that may have been packed by retail stores in British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario between August 7 and August 31. Consumers who are unsure if they have purchased affected product should check with their store.

This recall was triggered by Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) test results. The CFIA continues to investigate and will update the public as more information becomes available.
