Last Friday, the European Commission published the new regulation developing the expansion of the crisis management measures (approved by the Omnibus Regulation) included in the operational programs of producer organizations. It features aid linked to mutual funds, advice to organizations and producers, and aid linked to promotion and communication.
When it comes to promotion, it should be noted that it covers the costs generated by the negotiation, execution and management of phytosanitary protocols of third countries (if they are paid for by the producer organization or its associations), as well as the costs related to the organization and participation in promotional events, including fairs and exhibitions.
Nevertheless, the Regulation explicitly excludes credits for exports linked to the diversification and consolidation of the fruit and vegetable markets, which was one of the actions that Fepex had suggested during the negotiation process on the expansion of the crisis management measures.
