Mixed Spanish-French-Italian group analyses availability of phytosanitary products

This week, the group devoted to sanitary issues met in Madrid to analyse the availability of phytosanitary products, and the plenary of the Mixed Spanish-French-Italian Committee on Agriculture, to which it belongs, met the day after.

In the meeting of the plant health group, Spain outlined the procedures for the authorization process for crops requiring few pesticides. The group also managed to move forward in setting up of the system for mutual recognition, which would improve the availability of phytosanitary products.

Representatives of the three countries also reported that they are working on the national developments of Plant Health Regulation 2031/2016.

This was the last of the contact group meetings held annually within the framework of the Spanish-French-Italian Joint Committee. The plenary meeting taking place the next day in the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food has been closed by the Secretary of Agriculture, Fernando Miranda.
